When it comes to special occasion dining, we're spoilt for choice here on the Ninch. But what if the occasion is too special to share with strangers? If you want a bit of exclusivity alongside standout food, top-notch service and a suitably celebratory ambience, then look no further!
Here are some of our favourite private dining rooms, far away from the maddening crowds.
Tedesca Osteria
A whole animal approach and “nonna-style” cooking informs the menu at Tedesca Osteria. With a wealth of local produce and farm gates at her doorstep, owner Brigitte Hafner creates daily menus in response to the best ingredients available that day. A typical menu might consist of antipasto, hand made pasta, a seafood course, a meat course and dessert, but changes with the season. Dine here and you'll be eating at The Best Restaurant in Australia according to Gourmet Traveller.
Their cosy private dining room seats up to 10 people, but plan well ahead, Australia’s Best Restaurant books out well in advance.
Audrey's
The reimagined Continental in Sorrento has a range of new dining and divining options. If you want something special with a group of up to 30, check out the private dining space at Audrey’s. A Chef’s table with open kitchen views offers a unique experience where you can see chef, Scott Pickett, in action. An homage to chef's grandmother, you'll enjoy a seafood-centric menu and the authenticity of beach-side dining.
Many Little
A modern Sri Lankan menu combined with earthy Peninsula produce creates a venturesome food and drink experience at Many Little, with roots firmly in local soil. Produce is predominantly sourced from their very own farm, located just down the road. The sister restaurant to Polperro winery, Executive Chef Gayan Pieris offers authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, elevated to fine dining standards. Set menu, private room, incredible outsourced dinner party. Winner.
Ten Minutes By Tractor
The Mornington Peninsula classic, Ten Minutes by Tractor can also nestle you into their private space and wow you with Head Chef Hayden Ellis’s local produce inspired conjurings. The ultimate cellar door and restaurant, you can’t go wrong with the matched tasting menus here - 5 or 7 courses and both with excellent vegetarian options. We likey and we want it all to ourselves.
